It is one of the most popular centers of Pokhara and is situated on the top of a hill. One can reach there by a short 3 hours trek, or drive half an hour or an hour by cycling. The sunrise view of the mountains from Sarangkot is exemplary and very popular spot early risers. Taxi's will drop you off short of the kot itself and you need to walk the remaining 700m up some steps to reach the main view point. The kot is currently occupied by the Nepalese Army this should not prove a hindrance, so long as you do not take pictures of the soldiers.

Lake, Mountain, White Mountain, Rafting, Boating, Cave, Underground Waterfall, Museums, River Gorge, Sunrise, Paragliding, Trekking etc. The climate is sub-tropical but due to the elevation, the temperatures are moderate: the summers usually have a bearable 30-35oC, the winters averages around 15oC and only 800m above from sea level.
