ATTRACTION IN POKHARA

Pokhara is a popular tourist hub offering spectacular natural beaty and its vivid culture of ethnicity,

Bindabasini Temple
1. BINDEBASINI TEMPLE & THE OLD BAZAR:
You can find the old town Bazar in the north of the city. The houses have the resemblance of traditional architecture of Newari culture and are about 2km from the main centre. One of the best ways to explore Old Pokhara is to hire a bicycle from lakeside strip. Near to the bazaar is the popular temple of Bindahaya Basini dedicated to a Hindu goddess, Bagwati, It was ounded in the 17th Century. and Bagwati is worshiped here in the form of a saligram (ammonite fossil).

2. SETI GORGE:
Opening Hours ( of the park, Nr, KI SINGH Bridge) 7am-6pm)
Seti Gorge view Near KI Singh Pool
The Seti Gandaki (white Gandaki) river and its tributaries have created spectacular gorges in and around the whole city. The seti gorge runs through the whole city from north to south. At places it is only a few metres wide, but 100m deep with a water depth of 20m. In the middle of the city, the gorge widens to a canyon looking like a crater. In the north and south, just outside town, there are spectacular canyons, in some places 100m deep. These canyons extend through the whole Pokhara Valley. The best place to see the milky white water rushing through the gorge is from a park, nest to the KI Singh Bridge and near to the Grukha museum.

3. FEWA LAKE ( Locally Called Fewa Tal):
Western Side View of Fewatal
Northern Side View of Fewatal
The lake itself and the Lakeside area attract the majority of tourists and is the main hub of Pokhara's tourist industry, It is believed that this is where the city gets it's name as in Nepali, Pokhari means lake. The lake is 3km at its widest and 100m at its narrowest point, and is Nepal's second largest lake. Located middle in the lake on a small island, is Barahi temple which is decided to Ajima, a Hindu goddess. During Saturdays and festivals, one can find devotees carrying fowls and animals for sacrifice. One of the best parts about this side of Pokhara are the abundant picture perfect views of the lake and surrounding scenery. The views from this spot could tempt anyone to try their hand at painting. With the snow capped mountains glimmering in the distance, flourishing green forest in the middle and the calm lake at lapping at the shore, beckon any passersby to let out a sigh at such a refined, pure and unsoiled beauty. Wooden, pedal and sailboats can be rented at a very reasonable price around the lakeside. Spending an hour or two is one of the best ways to appreciate the Tal. Phewa Tal is also used for commercial fishing it's products can be sampled in one of the numerous restaurants in lakeside. The tourist are is along the east shore of the lake The shore of the lake consists of seemingly endless strip of lodges, restaurants, bookshops, trekking shops, cyber care, and souvenir shops. Be sure to bargain for any souvenirs you buy.

4. Devid's Valls:
               Opening Hours: 6am - 6pm
Another place worth visiting is the patale Chhango, more commonly called "Devid's Falls (The name apparently comes from that of a Swiss tourist called David who fell into the waterfall and drowned). The water from this falls comes from the lake flowing to the Seti, The water plunges into a hole and disappears underground, In monsoon this sight is at it's most spectacular. Recently the area surrounding the fall has been upgraded with garden, wash pond and other attractions to compensate those visitors who miss the waterfall during the winter, when there is little water.
